This is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Good because you can confirm that there are many subjects you need to understand when it comes to technology with the answers you give to those who ask you. Bad because this is a tiring and unremitting situation. Of course, it is unlikely that you will be able to explain to the other party in 10 minutes the information you have acquired by thinking for years. The problem is already here.
I often see that when someone who needs a phone asks me for an opinion, they ask: "What do you think I should buy?". Actually, the questions are being asked to the wrong party, I have to ask that: "What do you think you should buy?". This question is very important because although phones are produced with a single feature, people's preference for them is completely based on their needs. In other words, it is up to the user to choose a phone according to which criteria. But I see that there is a serious ignorance in this regard. For example, without looking at the features of the product of a well-known brand, it is necessary to examine whether it is suitable for the criteria of the person's expectations, whether it is sufficient or too much. The idea of "Oh, let it be feature-rich and not lacking" is also very wrong. Why invest in more than you need? Aren't you the one who is the one who is making a nuisance of every discussion with price hikes? Why don't you tighten your pocket when it comes to your own spending. Money is in and out of our lives.
How do we choose what?
Now let's get to this. Obviously, our phone choices are only about the camera, colour and the bitten apple logo. Then let's emphasise a little that these should not be the only criteria in the selection.
- What is important to you? — This is the first thing to think about. If you are too lazy to think about it and money is not important to you, there is no need to read the rest of the article. You can even move away from the site. Obviously, those who think about it have money and ego. I can also transfer this for those who do not think. Where and for what purpose will you use a new device you want to buy? For example, you may want to improve some correspondence on a workplace phone, want the battery to last longer, or expect application support to continue for many years. With another example, your need is photo and video oriented or you are thinking of focusing on hobby things in this field. Then the first thing you will look at in your preferences is the camera features and other software and hardware things that support it. It is a big mistake to fanaticise a phone just because of its brand. Unless your goal is to create a single ecosystem under that brand.

After all, this situation does not require you to be a bit technology expert. But in today's conditions, there is a progressing technology and there are still those who cannot perceive why the phone with finished software support does not open WhatsApp. If you can't find out, when the manufacturers cut their support for their phones, they should throw a voice statement and say "I'm dead now, man, let me go.". Even if someone who knows the business responds to you, they cannot vouch for you. This is a separate issue.
- Get the right resources — When it comes to researching or learning something, the sources are also important. Where you want it from can influence your decisions as much as what you want to buy. While familiar marketplaces are often the most recognisable when it comes to shopping, they are only of interest to us for their prices. The most reliable way to confirm the characteristics of a product is through manufacturer sources. This is usually the product pages on the manufacturers' websites. If this is not available, manufacturers' support lines or official correspondence channels may be preferred. But I would say don't trust someone who wrote the story from the 7th or 8th mouth. Maybe this is what should be asked instead of "What should I buy?": "Where should I research?".
- Make a choice — This is a very good stage. But it is also critical. When you determine your criteria precisely, you will come across more than one alternative. There is no harm in getting ideas about alternatives. You can even give every good and bad brand a chance. Because your criteria may not be the same with those who state that they have a bad experience. You may not see a mistake or deficiency experienced by someone else with your own criteria. Write down the models that lie in your head and move on to the next step.
- Investigate price alternatives — The price of each product is unfortunately not unique. Most of the time we can realise that in a certain price band, the figures play in the sales channels. Here you should not close the business at a dead price, very cheaply. If this is the goal, you may already be on the radar of scammers. Check out reliable sellers. Look, I say sellers, because marketplaces cannot vouch for the product they sell to sellers. Unfortunately, the control of fake products, which we call replicas, is almost non-existent in our country. All this applies to remote shopping, I think we are not ignorant enough to be defrauded in store shopping. If there are those who do not even understand that they look and touch, I am wasting my tongue right now.
- See how long your choice will take you — This is a situation that is not usually considered. There are even those who think that they will receive an update for 4 years after purchasing a smartphone. This is very tragicomic. He buys the phone produced in 2019 in 2024 and thinks that update support will end in 2028. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not wait for you to buy the phone to start the period. It starts from the moment it is released. In other words, you are obliged to do a comprehensive research until the future status of the device you prefer. Otherwise you will be sorry. When you have a device that is deprived of innovations when it does not receive camera updates, you can say, "I bought this last year, why is the camera like this?". It's not just about the camera either. It may not receive updates for applications, may not support 5G technology that will come to our country, or may not have today's popular invention artificial intelligence features. You may have to do the features that those around you do with one finger by opening your computer at home. I'm telling you.
So what's the deal with these overseas devices?
Before looking at this, let's look at exactly what our budget is and what are the products suitable for this budget, how much these products meet your criteria. If we have dealt with these issues in depth, it should reveal some results to us. For example, is our budget enough for the device we want? When we say "not enough", these overseas devices or the second-hand market usually come into play. I think the overseas option is an important alternative for those who think about their pocket. But how you procure the device is very important here. The legal side of the business requires you to go abroad and buy it yourself.
